patriot week 2024
APRIL 22 - 27
grAyS harbor county, wa
In honor of our first Veterans, and all Veterans in every war since that time, the Washington State Society of the Sons of the American Revolution is hosting its first Patriot Week 2024 in Grays Harbor County. Offering a long slate of events for residents of the County during the period from April 22-27, Patriot Week 2024 promises to be a fun, educational and enriching experience not to be missed.
Events will include Patriot Chest presentations in local schools and libraries, ceremonies to honor Veterans, a Liberty Tree dedication in Hoquiam, the unveiling of an Ocean Shores treasure not seen in many years at the entry to the beach access adjacent to the Shiloh Inn, “An Evening with George Washington” at the 7th Street Theatre in Hoquiam, and a slate of activities too numerous to mention. Most are open to the public without charge.
Genealogy Cafés
During the Patriot Week 2024 Genealogy Cafés, volunteers from the Grays Harbor Genealogy Society, Ocean Shores-North Beach Genealogy Society, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Sons of the American Revolution will work one-on-one, by appointment, with you to gather information and supportive documentation about your ancestors and begin building your family tree.
The adventure starts with a one one-hour session building the path towards your Revolutionary War Patriot Ancestor. Tracing your family generation by generation will reveal details about your ancestors, where they settled, and interesting information about their lives. You will leave with the tools to continue researching your heritage. As you follow that path you will grow in your understanding of your family’s part in the growth of this great nation.
